Morrison Healthcare partners with Crothall Healthcare form Compass One Healthcare – "providing food, nutrition and support services in more than 1,850 locations with a combined 90 years of healthcare-only experience". Morrison is a contract manager company for food and nutritional services since 1990. Since then, Morrison has implemented many initiatives, including the Great People, Great Service, Great Results. In 2004, the Great People, Great Service, Great Results initiative sought to improve customer service strategies, as the competitive, ever-changing US healthcare marketplace increased service expectations (Seidl, 2007, p. 28). As a result, the initiative's three year goals goals were met between the Fiscal Years 2004 and 2006 including: "profits before interest and taxes had grown by 27 percent during the two-year period" and "patient satisfaction, measured as percentage of accounts meeting or exceeding their contractual benchmark, had increased by about 7 percentage points (about a 10 percent improvement)" (Seidl, 2007, p. 37). During this time, patient satisfaction points increased, and Morrison attributed this success to their improved customer service experiences. However, patient satisfaction rates could increase if more health initiatives were put in place.
Morrison partnered with the Department of Preventive Medicine through their Everyday Wellness initiative to provide a healthier array for food options for patients and guests. The wellness commitment can be found here and serves as a promise for what Morrison will implement at participating hospitals.
